Crucial, Beautiful Math

We can find math everywhere, numbers are things of beauty, and humans have a subconscious response to mathematical relations.
In this program we explore the realm of mathematics and how it interacts with our world. We look at the changing face of numbers: mathematic systems from the early times to today. Examine math as an everyday tool; math in nature, literature, and visual arts from painting to sculpture to animation and gaming, to crop circles, optical illusions, flexagons, and hexaflexagons. And of course we find math in music, in sports, games, and in navigation in our world and beyond.
Open your students to the idea that math is not only an academic subject or a useful tool, but a pattern, weaving matter together to create the universe.
